So take note of the teachings of Vasthu Sastra.
I made this call during my presentation entitled Vasthu Sastra – The Formula For World Peace at the 13th Asian Astrology & Vasthu Sastra Conference on National Heritage held in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month.
My suggestion that Vasthu Sastra can contribute towards world peace was acknowledged by the delegates from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand and Malaysia.
Although 5,000-year-old, this ancient knowledge has brought hope and accord to many homes worldwide and interest in it is growing as people are now seeking alternative therapies for good health, peace and happiness.
Asian Astrologers Congress president Dr Satya Biswas said Vasthu Sastra is a logical and practical way of living and it has resolved many of the challenges that mankind faces.
“Since ancient times predictive sciences like astrology and Vasthu have been one of the greatest adventures of human civilization and have contributed greatly to people’s lives and their culture.
“Although both the predictive sciences are thousands of years old, they are still sought by people in modern times as humans are looking for answers to the unseen and the unknown, and the challenges in life.
“Astrology is based on the belief that the position of the planets and stars influence human life. Vasthu guides us on how we can live harmoniously in any space by being at peace with the five elements – ether, fire, water, earth and air,” said Dr Biswas.
He added that regardless of whether or not people believe in metaphysics or mythology, they play a vital role in every individual’s life.
The astonishing aspect about astrology is that it can give one insights into all manner of situations, from the personal to the political and from the most intimate to the most mundane.
“This is because astrologers generally take a holistic view of the world and we can see that there is a spiritual connection between all things, even the planets, stars and us.”
Dr Biswas said it was possible that some people may dismiss both the sciences as totally fictional and baseless and give it no importance whatsoever.
But modern science does not discredit the knowledge they offer and they continue to have powerful effects on the lives of many.

Publish in The Star on Sunday, August, 28th 2011
Thanks to Mr T.Selva & The Star
Link to The Article On The Star Online

Matters of the occult

Ancient Secret by T.SELVA

The occult is hidden positive energy that can be tapped for the betterment of life.
OCCULT science is found in almost all cultures, and it has become a way of life in many traditions to attain wellbeing, peace and happiness.
However, the supernatural phenomena has often been misinterpreted because some individuals have manipulated them for the wrong purposes.
The occult is not necessarily evil, but a sacred or hidden positive energy that can be tapped for the betterment of life.

To attract fresh energy into your living space, chop one onion into quarters and place one piece in each corner of a room.
According to metaphysical experts, there is an inherent energy radiating from earth and all living things, and they influence our mood, emotions and actions, whether we are aware of this or not. Since the life-power is formless, it can only be experienced and cannot be seen, heard or touched.
In my quest to learn mystical knowledge, I have met several positive healers in India, Nepal, UK, Brazil and Australia of various cultures who have shared with me many secrets, from spells to the making of amulets, which I would like to share with readers.
Spells come in virtually unlimited forms and it incorporates energy and power to obtain the desired result. Some of the practices are object-driven, like using eggs, candles and oil, while others are dependent upon the power of words.
Before any spell is cast, the first requirement is that you need to have a goal – what do you want to achieve or what do you wish to prevent?
Spells are always cast for a purpose, with the most generic being for personal peace, happiness and protection. The more specific your desire or the more clear your vision, the more likely it is that your spell will work.
There is no one type of spell that is inherently more powerful than another, but there are only spells and styles of spell-casting that are more effective for a specific individual. The fun part of spell casting is finding the spell that best suits the person, and applying the therapy with faith and respect. Try one spell at a time and don’t rush into doing all.
Happy spell-casting!
Creating harmony at work
Tie red ribbons under your office table to protect you from negative energies. Red has the power to ward off all unwanted energies in any space.
Space cleansing using onion
Chop one onion into quarters and place one piece in each corner of a room. Don’t peel the onion and allow the onion to remain in the place overnight.
Bury them outside your house the following day and repeat the process for a total of five consecutive nights to attract fresh energies into your space.
Space cleansing using vinegar
Place a bowl of vinegar and add a square of camphor into it. Leave the bowl in every room that needs cleansing and replace them weekly. All negative energies in the space will be cleared when the ritual is performed regularly.
Body cleansing
Grind or pound sage into a fine powder and sprinkle the powder on hot charcoal. Allow the smoke to cleanse the body. This therapy will remove all impurities and you will enjoy improved aura.
Seven flowers remedy bath
When you feel fatigued, tired, dull, drained, and sad, take seven different types of fresh flowers that appeal to you. Seven is the magic number associated with hope and miracles. Float the flowers in the bathtub or pail of water for about an hour before using the water to bathe. Rub the flower petals on your body for better results. Following the shower, you will feel rejuvenated.
Egg therapy
Pray over a raw egg to remove negative energy, and roll the egg, from the back of your neck, moving it up and down from the base of the head to the lump at the shoulder blades.
The egg should then be broken by throwing it into the toilet and flushed away or smashed on the road outside your house.
Similar therapy can also be applied on other areas of the body to remove aches and pains because egg is one of the most effective agents for absorbing negative energy.
Prevent nightmares
Grind and powder dried agrimony and cast a circle with the powder around your bed to prevent bad dreams and to provide protection.
Moonlight water therapy
Collect rainwater during the full moon and use the water to bathe your head and wash your hair to relieve stress and dullness.
Coin spells
String three coins together and place them on or under your telephone to stimulate prosperous business.
Place a string of seven coins or currency inside your cash box register, wallet or account ledger to stimulate cash flow.
Find a coin from the year of your birth, in any national currency. The year is crucial and keep it in your wallet and it will attract your wealth dreams.
Upon sighting of the new moon, immediately jingle any coins in your pocket to increase wealth.
Money-drawing powder
Grind and powder dried parsley, dill and basil. Sprinkle over your wallet, cheque book or cash register.
Another method is to grind and powder cinnamon, cloves and sarsaparilla. Sprinkle the powder throughout your home, concentrating at the corners.

Publish in The Star on Sunday, September, 25th 2011
Thanks to Mr T.Selva & The Star
Link to The Article On The Star Online

ALWAY REMEMBER THOSE WHO SERVE YOU

In these days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10-year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. There are many more dont’s than dos when dealing with them.

What is a shoe to you? Footwear is something we use to protect our feet and that’s all there is to it.

When it is used for any other purpose, it could be seen as disrespectful.

In Hinduism and almost all other cultures and beliefs, shoes or slippers are viewed as negative elements and there are many more dont’s than dos when dealing with them.

Shoes should be kept away from sight after use because they have inauspicious, negative qualities.

Why? Because subtle energy enters via our crown chakra (head), then channels through our body and this negative energy is discharged through our feet.

Wearing shoes and slippers into the house is bad because the negative energy from outside will enter into the living space. Footwear must not be kept in front of the main doorway.

In Vasthu Sastra, the shoe rack should be placed away from the north-east quadrant because the space is a divine corner and should be kept clean.

Footwear must not be hung at the doorway or fence because it will ward off visitors and create hostility. On the contrary, a dream that involves shoes that are torn and worn out means a setback in life.

To see yourself buying new shoes and wearing them shall bring you financial gains in your job. If you simply dream about shoes then prepare for a journey.

If you dream about losing your shoes, it is a bad omen as it foretells that your loved ones shall betray you when you need them most. To see a shoemaker in your dream is unfavourable as it signifies poverty.

Because of all of the above, using shoes as a gesture to express any form of displeasure is regarded as a bad omen and disrespectful.

That is exactly what happened in the case of Paya Besar MIC division deputy chief M. Sukumaran. He said during the recent MIC general assembly that he wanted a garland of slippers to be placed on a photograph of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, and his statement caused him suspension from the party.

In a similar situation, Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi, who hurled his shoe at former US President George W. Bush in Baghdad, served time in prison and was released on Sept 15.

In India, it is common for people who are unhappy with any particular personality to place a garland of slippers or shoes on the statue or image as a sign of protest.

It is written in Hindu scriptures that those who perform such ill-mannered acts will lose everything in life and bring shame to their family, community and country.

Even uttering the words, “I will hit you with a shoe’’ is viewed as impolite and the effects are the same.

In the Hindu living system, every individual is regarded as a divine soul and should be respected with dignity and treated with honour and any mistreatment will lead to misery.

People should understand that omens have been passed down from ancient times and brushing them aside as mere superstition can be wrong.

In my column in Nov 2007, I wrote about the public’s concerns when the former Selangor Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo, handed out broom awards to two underperforming local councils at the Selangor Excellence Awards.

In Indian culture, it is not a good idea to give anyone a broom, as it is equivalent to hitting the person with it. It is not the recipient who will suffer the consequent bad karma but the giver.

Although Khir had brushed aside the criticism and these old beliefs, it seems he is still drawn into controversies after he lost his mentri besar post following Barisan Nasional’s failure to retain Selangor in the last general election.

Article by T. It is common to hear an individual say “I can only take so much in life” before they explode with negative emotions.

Many people do not realize that anger actually causes harm to our body as it makes our heart beat faster, increases our blood pressure, tenses up muscles, makes us radiate an aura of unfriendliness, harms our mental, emotional and physical health, and our equilibrium.

Medically, anger can cause headaches, ulcers, depression, sleep disorders, fatigue, bowel and respiratory problems.

It is vital that we take control of ourselves when we encounter negative situations that can contribute to fury.

There are many ways to prevent ourselves from being dragged into an unpleasant state that can generate destructive emotions.

When you are confronted with a situation that can create anger, face it directly and speak calmly.

Article from Do you find them getting all stressed up? Do you find that their concentration is taking a backseat? Are they fretting and fuming at you? Do they say 'I can't remember whatever I study'? Do they get a mind block when they try to study? Does all this stress you too?

As the exams get nearer, you (and the teachers too) tend to constantly advise the youngsters to study better and harder so that they excel in their class. You tell your child that he or she has to study more and more, or else he or she may not even pass the exam. This only over-stresses the child and makes him or her dread the exams.

It is necessary that the child is relaxed and does not feel the strain of studying. At the same time he/she should be able to assimilate comfortably whatever he/she studies without getting all stressed up. Too much motivation can stress the young mind and can cause more harm than benefit.

Some simple Vaastu (and other) guidelines, as follow, can contribute to better concentration of your children and make them write their exams with confidence.

Vaastu rules to help your child:

1. Never sleep with the head to the west and north.

2. Never sleep in the northwest sector of the home or northwest part of the room (if the child is a boy).

3. Never sleep in the southeast sector of the home or southeast sector of the room (if the child is a girl).

4. Avoid mirrors in the bedroom.

5. Avoid mirrors on the south and west walls in the study area.

6. Study facing east or north.

7. Keep the study table and area extremely clean without dumping books and papers around.

8. Have the study area in the northeast sector of the home or the northeast part of the room.

9. Have a lukewarm shower before going to bed if stressed up.

10. Have a fish aquarium, water fountain or half a dozen bamboo plants in the northeast area of the living room (where the family gets together) but never in the corner.

11. Make liberal use of green and yellow colour (dark and light hues) in the bedroom and study areas. These colours can be used on bed linen, study's tablecloth, indoor plants (herbal), floor mats, curtains, pillow covers, clothes, etc.

12. While dining, face east if the child is a girl and north if the child is a boy.

13. Occupy the same place and orient to the same direction each day to build up the child's good aura in the area.

14. Never allow others to make use of the child's study and bed area.

15. Eat a few leaves of the Basil plant each morning on an empty stomach.

16. Never play loud music that can contribute to distraction and stress.

17. Have soft lilting music at minimum volume in the bedroom during night. This can be the Gayatri Mantra too.

18. Avoid sleeping or studying in a room that has the door at an angle to the attached walls.

Tell your child that you are there to support him or her and always make encouraging comments of the child's plus points. Never ever make the mistake of advising or commenting on the child's shortcomings while the child is at the dining table. Make them feel that you love them.

Allow them to have some relaxation like playing sports and music or take them out to a restaurant without compelling them.

Don't promise rewards to your children for the outcome of the exams. On the other hand during the period of preparation give them small gifts appreciating their efforts. Tell them they are indeed hardworking and intelligent. Give them encouraging suggestions and make them feel that your support is there for them always.

Encourage (but never force) them to exercise, meditate and be relaxed. Avoid anything that is likely to distract your child in the study area — be it the visual or audio media.

The above Vaastu tips will definitely help in making your child a stress-free leader!

http://sify.com/astrology/fullstory.php?id=14692750&vsv=S9

Omens of the Monkey

every Friday and add it to your existing jar of salt. This salt ritual must be done every Friday for 27 weeks without a break and you will see and experience pleasant results. It is recommended that those who are in debts should perform it. The salt must be purchased only on a Friday, best after sunrise and before sunset. If you break the cycle, meaning you forgot to buy and add the salt on one Friday, you will have to restart the process all over again. The salt that is added to the jar every Friday should be used for daily cooking, washing, bathing, placed in the four corners of the room or house to remove negative energies etc. The accumulated salt must not be stored in the altar but kept in the kitchen. If you are traveling, you can nominate your spouse to do it on your behalf and if the entire family is traveling, you should carry the salt jar along so that you will not miss the Friday. Once you have completed the 27 weeks, you can start a second cycle as this therapy brings a lot of goodness and benefit to the person observing it.

Thank you to vasthuweb.com for the article.

Omens of the Cat

A cat crossing the road from any side during the course of a journey is inauspicious.
A cat falling on a sleeping person is inauspicious and indicates his death or some disease.
If a pregnant cat delivers its kitten in a house it indicates prosperity and wealth to the owner. It is believed that Lord Surya (Sun god) changes his direction from north to south in the month of Aadi.

The next six months from Aadi to Margazhi is the Dakshinayana punyakalam – symbolically the night time of the Devas. Traditionally, most people avoid auspicious ceremonies during this period. It is believed that the ceremonies held during this period will not have the blessings of the gods.

Another reason is that the month of Aadi culminates with the start of the rains in the country. Being an agrarian country, people get involved in agricultural activities in this month. So they do not have the time and money to partake in festivities in this month. So ceremonies which incur huge expenses like marriage, house warming ceremony, changing the house, buying of land and building of houses are avoided.

The next reason is that this month is considered very auspicious for the worship of Goddess Amman. So people are involved in various spiritual activities rather than in festivities.

However, a few important celebrations and rituals take place in the month of Aadi.

Aadi Pirappu: July 16th, 2008 – The first day of every month is usually celebrated by Tamilians and the first day of Aadi is celebrated as Aadi Pirappu. No significance is attached to such rituals though, by the Vedas or Agamas. These festivals are traditionally celebrated and have no religious ratification.
What we should do: Visit the temple and seek the Almighty’s blessing. This will keep our mind calm and focused. It will also be an auspicious start for the month.

Aadi Krithigai: July 27th, 2008 – This is an important festival celebrated in the Tamil month of Aadi. The festival is dedicated to Lord Muruga or Subrahamaniya. Devotees carry flower Kavadis on Aadi Krithigai day.
What we should do: Do upavas or eat food without salt. This will bring in the grace of lord Muruga.

Aadi Amavasai: August 1st, 2008 – The new moon day in the Tamil month Aadi is dedicated to ancestors. The main rites and rituals on the day are dedicated to forefathers and many people observe ‘upavas’ or fast. Tarpana will also be done on this day. Thousands of people take a holy dip in the various rivers, seas and ponds. Agni Theertham in Rameswaram, Thriveni Sangamam in Kanyakumari are favoured.
What we should do: Tarpana or any rituals to pay respect to our forefathers. We can also offer good food to poor people or Brahmins. This will bless our lineage and also act as a guard for the continuation of the lineage. If possible a holy dip can be done.

Aadi Perukku: August 2nd, 2008. This is celebrated on the 18th day of the Tamil Month Aadi. ‘Perukku’ means rising – indicating the rising water in rivers. The festival is essentially a form of nature worship. Special food is prepared on this day and family and friends get together and pray for uninterrupted supply of water and a good harvest. In some communities on Aadi Perukku day, the bride’s parents invite their son-in-law and present new clothes.
What we should do: Offer thanks to the Almighty for all the blessings he has given us and for protecting us. Mass prayer or satsangh or bhajans can be organized.

Aadi Puram: August 8th, 2008. This is to celebrate the birth of Andal who is believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. Aadi is the fourth month in the Tamil Calendar and Pooram is one of the 27 nakshatrams or stars. The day is also celebrated as the birthday of Andal – Saint Poet who wrote Tiruppaavai and is also considered as a manifestation of the mother Goddess.
What we should do: This festival indicates that the atma or the soul of a man should finally merge with parabrahamam. Prayers to Andal and visiting any Amman temple will help our soul to move in that direction. It is believed observance of fast on this day by unmarried girls will get them a good spouse.

Varalakshmi Pooja: August 15th, 2008. This pooja, done by women, falls in the month of Aadi. Women observe fast (Vratha) for the wellbeing of the family.
What we should do: Offering food, turmeric, betel leaf to women on this day will give happiness. Taking the blessings of the Almighty and elders will give us a lot of strength and goodness.

Tuesdays and Fridays in the month of Aadi are considered auspicious. Lighting lamps, doing chanting or namavalli puja {chanting the 108 names of the goddess} will help us to remove the difficulties in life. Karya siddhi or success in the undertaken work will also happen. General happiness of the family will be there.

In south India, people offer porridge to the goddess. Then they are distributed to the people of various castes and creed. This shows we are all one and the same before god.

Earlier, newly-wed couples were separated during the month of Aadi by some communities. The bride’s parents used to invite the bride back home. This was because women who conceived during the Aadi month used to give birth during April – May, the hottest months. In earlier days, when there were no hospitals, the infant mortality rate used to be high during the hot months.

In modern times, a much-awaited event is the Aadi discount sale, especially of textiles and jewelry.

NOT A STORY BUT A TRUE INCIDENT

An
